I called em up. Its got some decent rear wheel rust. It also needs brake work done (squishy pedal), along with the exhaust work. If its in good shape otherwise it might work out.

Local quote for a new windshield was $210 in their shop. I assume them coming out is extra.

No go on the Protege either. Too many little issues that would require too much time and money. Tires were shot, so thats $400 (and it needed an alignment). Windshield is another $200, plus exhaust work (free), and brake work (not free). I would have an easy $1500+ before it was in okay shape.

Well, he hasn't sold it yet, so it's certainly worth haggling.

I figure you can get nearly any car down about 10% off the asking price (even if they say they are"firm" on price) if you show up with cash. More if it's been listed for a while.

It sounds like a have a volunteer already.

I also assume I can get a ~10% price reduction. I'm not real good at talking people down though.

I asked my old roommate to give him a call. I would do so happily, but he really likes arguing, and does seem to know more about cars, so I think that he would do an excellent job of explaining why the car is not worth that much.

Can you just come out to DE/NJ and buy my Saturn SL2 for $800? Fly into Philly Friday night and drive away Saturday morning. You'll be home by Monday at the latest lol.

No reply from the escort guy.

I will probably contact this guy. Hes in the same town as me and the price leaves a lot of room for future repairs.
