I've used the Seafoam in a car with over 180,000. It does put out a lot of white smoke and stuff. I couldn't see that their was any reason to not use it, if anything I'd say the more miles on the engine, the more it would probably benefit from it. The motor I used it in was my 89 Honda Wagon. It's at 256,000 miles now. It does have a problem, now, burning oil in #2 cylinder, but I think that is from my multiple overheating and head gasket issues.

I've also used plain water, down the intake and it doesn't seem to hurt anything either, but you have to add it at a slow trickle, or there might be a problem. It put's out lot's of smoke also. I couldn't see that either one did anything to hurt the engine's and in both cases the engines seemed to run better, after, than before. However, in both cases the engine's were very, very well used before I ever did anything to them.

Yeah, that's the other problem: I'd have to find another place to do it. Where I live, everybody is on such pins and needles that I'd have the fire department visiting my house before I got half the bottle in.

I got a bottle of Dipetane and have started using it. No smoke or anything dramatic, although i do feel a little more acceleration/ perkiness! Maybe the yaris wasn't as gunked up as bad as i thought. Here's a link to the makers site: Dipetane: Fuel treatment solutions that will save you money and protect our environment
They seem to have their homework done. Time will tell.....

My mileage didn't really change but there was way less soot coming out after a week of steady driving. Which tells me the fuel might be atomising better and therefore burning more completely, maybe?? So i use it still on every other tank. Looking back on my fuel log tells me pulse and glide wasnt really working for me either so that throws the numbers a little. Steady driving from now on so the weather will be the only thing affecting the numbers. Time will tell......again!
