Looks like you have lots of work ahead of you. I really like the new taillights you have there, very creative and cleanly done.

stock tailights held in place with 2 screws from outside the bumper threaded directly into the edge of the plastic housings Just trying to be different. could be a temporary set-up in the event I extend the rear into a boattail or ??????

Wow. That is pretty radical! This is the ultimate in metal and plastics recycling. And you have the perfect opportunity to rebuild the whole back according to the "Kamm" template shape, which is what the template above depicts. The sloping line extending from your roof line backward is the line you would build to. Here are two Kamm designs in the attached photos (one posted already on this site by aeromodder I think).

PS: love the tail lights too.

checked fe today after 338 miles. just couldn't wait for E. 49.4, ever so close to my loosely held goal of 50mpg. I also have ordered 18' of fiberglass mat from US. Composites.com surfing around EM came across the dolphin ev. has an awesome rear end. got me thinking.....

Side mirror deletes

I have removed both side mirrors and covered the factory mount area with ABS plates. Tape is from install using construction adhesive as well as rtv sealant for a real nice fit and finish. convex mirror is now inside(was mounted outside previously). After checking south carolina laws seem the only requirement is to be able to see 200ft behind the vehicle.I'm pretty sure I found that info here on EM if one of you guys would maybe be so kind as note where that info can be found so any other interested viewers could find it also included photo of passenger side plate tanning on the back deck in the hot south carolina sun prior to its install

maybe you could have part of your boat-tail be made of plexiglass so that you could keep the tail lights how they are but still maintain smooth airflow around the back of your car.

Yeah I'd like that. but I not sure about just how to go about doing that in plexi. thought about using some of that for a wedge shape nose piece so that headlights and blinkers would remain stock and functional. Have you done any larger plexi work?

These replacements for the mirrors are really excellently done. And now I know of ABS Plate. BTW, re: the law of mirrors. Cali law has that same phrase about 200 ft but it has not kept police from pulling me over for the missing mirrors. I decided to replace the external driver's side. Don't need the hassles. Keep it in mind.
