I decided to use the power steering signal, as it's unused in the Insight - this input is for the RSX's hydraulic PS. The way I set it up is as follows:
-Shifter button grounds EPS input
-ECU nitrous control #1 activates
-Nitrous control #1 adds negative 600 fuel units to the fuel map
-ECU momentarily activates the A/C compressor to stop the engine more quickly
Was working on all of the cars today. The cam-mirrors return!
New cameras! I like them a lot better than the old ones. Unfortunately they can't be repointed without changing how they're mounted, so my views get a lot of the side of the car now.
New screens! Old ones are on the left. The new ones are lower resolution and smaller, but they're more clear and have better color reproduction. Also, they're 4:3 aspect ratio, like the cameras. The old screens had black bars on left and right. Why are nearly all of the screens for backup cameras widescreen, whereas nearly all of the cameras are 4:3?
The kit, ready to go back in the car:
Mounted up:
Fuel economy after a test run on the highway at ~55mph over 15 miles. Not too shabby!
They look great. I wonder if instead of two screen mounted on the dash, if you ever considered one of those windshield mounted rear view mirror screens.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. I have, and even tried mounting one or both screens up there. I didn't like the sensation of turning my head right to look for a left hand turn.
Ecky, you said New cameras! I like them a lot better than the old ones. What is the viewing angle of the new cameras? I have a passenger side camera that has a viewing angle of 170 degrees, and I don't find it very satisfying. I bought one that has a 120 degree angle but I haven't had the opportunity to install it.
Wow that's low, next mod external EGR? Easy implementation would be a valve that's manually actuated via a pushrod/cable going to the cabin, sized for cruising. I believe it should help a good amount.
My feeling is that ignition timing isn't going to be too critical since the hotter IAT speeds up combustion.
