The A/C can be fitted with a Danfoss-type electric-driven compressor

BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already fitting start-stop in some models for the Brazilian market. Even the VW Golf with the 1.4TSI engine has this feature...

I don't remember when they started advertising it back here, but it had been about 2 or 3 years...

Anyway, possibly an electric power steering (already used in some Mustangs converted to RHD in Australia or New Zealand) and all-electric A/C would also be fitted alongside the start-stop when it gets into the Corvette. Even the increased electric load, thus requiring a beefier alternator, would actually reduce the engine's effort compared to driving a power steering pump and an A/C compressor, benefitting not just the performance but also the fuel-efficiency.

I'm not so up-to-date about Mustangs. But anyway, it's a good move from Ford.
