Yup. Especially so when guessing right
This is an educated guess though

MPG is up...
With 9.401 gallons of gas that was a mixture of premium and mid grade, I got 42.54867 mpg. Yes, I'm a stickler for accuracy. :-) I filled up the 10.5 gallon tank with premium tonight and the mpg sensor seems to already be registering a little higher mpg.

Also, the car's built in mpg sensor seems to be pretty accurate.

Curious, but which was MOST accurate? The MPG value or the GALS used (as compared to the gas-pump number)?

I am a bit confused. The sensor said I was getting 42.2 I think....or was it 44.2? Darn it, I'm forgetting!

That is why many of us capture everything in a log book, it makes having to remember a (pardon the pun) "no brainer" (ha,ha).
Here's how I have my logbook columns labelled:
...DATE...|.TRIP..|..ODO...|..GALS..|.CO$T.|..NOTE S...
01-Apr-13 | 349.1 | 25,000 | 10.903 |$36.39| 87 octane
Note that "TRIP" is the 'small' miles (XXX.X) that you reset at each fillup, while the "ODO(meter)" is the 'big' (total car milage) miles (XXX,XXX) that you cannot change...it just accumulates as you drive, getting bigger.

I can't believe I am forgetting but I am a certain age. :-)
I think it was 42.2 which is why I was impressed with the accuracy. The sensor on my Scion was about 2 mpg off.

Chrysler is actually prolonging the bursting of the Fiat-bubble.
If Fiat abandoned Chrysler, it'd be bankrupt in an instant, as Fiat are actually doing very, very badly.
On the MPG front : EU car ratings are measured with the most expensive / high octane gas.
They aren't designed for E10, so MPG usually drops when using E10 - one of the reasons why the E10 introduction in Germany failed massively.
Use gas without ethanol and the highest octane for best mpg if that's what you want.
Calculate your price / mile depending on the difference in fuel price and difference in MPG, if minimal cost is what you are looking for.
