Aw, c'mon, that's not fair -- how many people on this forum buy new cars anyway?

I think there are more people on here who drive EV's to work then buy new cars.

I can do a 21.7 mile commute at about 90% expressway and 9% state highway, or 18.2 miles, but all city. And this is dreadful, maddening, road-rage inspiring, Chicago city miles. I opt for the expressway version, since the 6:15am start to my commute gets me some pretty smooth flowing traffic. And it only takes about a half hour at posted speeds. I've wondered if the shorter commute would actually net less gas use (unlikely, considering the traffic and number of stops). Since I don't drive a hybrid, (and would like to retain my sanity) I'll stick to the longer distance on the e-way.

I'm in the "walk down the hall" commute group.

Sometimes I take the EV down to the park and work in the car for a couple of hours looking out over the river.
