How to go from 15.5mpg to 34mpg in 1 day.

Sell this...

Buy this...

I have only had one tank through it so far, but that resulted in 34mpg. Which was just normal driving. The plan so far is upper and lower grill block, and foglight covers. I may try and replace that spoiler with some kind of kammback...maybe.

Does anyone know how to hypermile a CVT? I used to engine-on coast in neutral with my truck, but I heard that it bad for the CVT.

The CVT in my wife's Rogue is probably similar to your Versa.

Accelerate at 14-1600 RPM to your speed, then you can do mini pulse and glides.

Very gradual acceleration to 5 MPH over average, then let it very gradually loose speed to 5 MPH below average. If you have any grades try to maintain speed up the gradual inclines then use the downhill portion to use minimum throttle position to very gradually loose or maintain speed.

Try to keep engine RPM in the range of 1200-2200 RPM.

haha, I loved that truck, I am going to miss it. I could actually get it up to 17mpg while hypermiling! lol. No it was not stock. It had a 5 1/2" lift and 34" tall tires (along with countless other mods).

I will have to try the mild pulse and glide, I have noticed how easy it is to keep the engine under 2k rpm with the CVT. As long as I don't hit hills and stay under 60mph I can keep it under 2k rpm without much trouble at all.

I managed 33.25 MPG on one trip in her Rogue. I think your Versa is the 1.8 engine, or the 1.6.

I'll bet when you get it down pat in warmer temps you should be able to beat 40 MPG average.

Go to sidewall max pressure on the tires, probably about 44 PSI.

Thanks. Yes, it is the 1.8L. And I aired up the tires to 44psi for this 2nd tank.
40mpg is my goal. Hopefully with some aeromods I can reach it.
