Turtle howdy folks

hi!

Here's my truck. 2002 ford ranger 4x4 auto 4.0L supercab stepside bed

hxxp://i56.tinypic.com/2elttvr.jpg

I currently get bad mpg. i haven't really bothered figuring out actual numbers but I'm guessing 12-18 mpg

I'm going to install pizza pans, rear wheel skirts and eventually an aerocap for now. I try to to coast when i can remember it.

Is getting a scangauge worth the money?

Yes the SG is very much worth the money, I got mine off ebay, look for a few weeks mine was $98 shipped.

the garage has a nice fuel tracker use it, just tracking MPG is the first step.

You might want to take a look at the underside of your truck and see if you can make a belly pan for it.
My parents have a 1998 ranger, I use it almost as much as possible, that being as little as possible! I've gotten 25mpg while towing a trailer with my electric car on the back, going 55mph was the key.
A scan gauge is going to be key in helping you drive better and learning if a mod you make was worth doing.
