Thank you Arragonis for the detailed instructions with screen shots. Perhaps I can finally add some photos to my posts!

Glad it helped, you have reminded me I haven't looked at external hosts - flickr etc. I only have a Picasa account so I'll need to do that

Regarding resizing pictures, EM automatically resizes pics. when you put them into an album. If the pics are ones you want to keep, you can put them into an album first and then copy them from the album.

When the pics are loading, though, it loads the whole dang thing original size first.

Set your browser to not show images, you can then right-click and show the ones you want to see. Also set your browser not to animate gifs and install something like Flashblock. Its amazing how much cr@p is on each page.

No Animated GIFs in Firefox.
Open a new tab.
Put "about:config" into the address box and press Enter - you will see a warning message about being careful, click that you will.
In the list look for an entry described as "image.animation_mode" (you can press "i" on the list and it should go there).
Double click on it, and change the text from "normal" to "none".
Animated GIFs will then be still.

On the first one can we change it to say "click Full Size Image" and then do the right click, copy thing? Then you're using the source image and not some bajillion character Google preview image URL.
Otherwise, good job on the thread. I'll put it in my sig.

I'm curious how people do quotes that include the original picture. When I Copy a range of text including a picture, click Quote and Paste I get only the text. I guess I could manually paste the URI of the pic into the quote, but I doubt everyone does that every time. I'm going to test this now in the Preview
...
Yup, still fails. I can see the selection includes the picture, so I don't think the behavior is coming from the OS. It seems I would have to open the page source and locate and copy the URI.
Also, suppose I put a picture in a hosted service [Imgur] and then independently upload it to an EM album. If I use the it seems the process would be equivalent. But if someone Quotes that picture, is it pulled from it's source, or from the thread?
In other words does vBulletin maintain its own cache?

Ket's say I put up this file, and link to it by using an URL inbetween image tags :
Code:
[IMG] https://dl.dropbox.com/u/83666569/test/mirror.JPG[ /IMG]
(the [IMG]tags should be right next to the URL - space added either side of the URL to break up the tags functionality)
would give this :

Haha, something goes wrong -
it shouldn't execute the image tags within CODE tags ...
