Sure thing. She is really ugly but I will show what the car looks like from the start. I am thinking that this will be a moderate job. I would love to get a hold of an older Honda Insight or a WVO converted VW.

I am going to start with a lower grille/bumper cover and leave the skinny grille just under the hood alone until Fall hits. I tried pulsing my mother's new CRV and got it up to 38mpg with the A/C running. Awsome! I can't wait until I get my Prizm inspected so I can start driving with my newly gained information. If I can manage 38mpg in a automatic mini SUV, I should be able to break 45mpg in the 5-speed car very soon. I have to get the EZ-PASS so I don't have to stop twice on RT-16 on my way to Newington.

Anyone familiar with the Prizm shape know of any common aero upgrades that would make sense? I am already looking at a grille block and some simple underbody smoothing. I saw an air disrupter that looked like spikes that went over the back window of an EVO 9 and wondered if that is worth while. Also what about a deck spoiler?

I don't know what options you have back east, but here in CA, hybrids and CNG vehicles get solo carpool lane access and greatly reduced tolls on the express lanes. My next vehicle will likely be a Civic GX or 1G Insight for this very reason.

CA is better that what we have here in that department. They are talking about increasing a toll from $1.50 to $2 to help the environment. They say less time will be taken by not making change. Thanks guys.... not. I am not wanting to do these improvements for the environment. It is economics, sticking it to the Oil and Gas industry, the tax man, and its a challenge. I would love to get into WVO fuels in the future.

That's okay. The 91 Express Lanes here have a sliding cost based on the time of the week. Thursday from 4:00-6:00pm in the eastbound direction, it's over $10.00 one way.

Averaged 43mpg during the last several days. I think it would have been more like 45mpg + if I had not been stuck in traffic, following my mother around NH, and had started pulsing sooner.

Hit 48.3mpg today and I got the job. Just waiting for the physical, drug screen, and background. Great news all around!

Congrats on the job! Good luck on the commute. Welcome.
This place gives you plenty to think about as you visualize air molecules passing over your car on a long commute. How do you keep them happy (molecules)? Answer it and you and your car become efficient.
