Hypermiling POWNAGE

I was driving with my mom today in her 91 Mercedes 190 and when i'm in the city I ALWAYS drive super slow because i've timed it from school to my house it takes the same time whether you drive fast or slow.

Anyways this monte carlo is tailgaiting me and i look in the mirror "go ahead I'll see you at the next red light" he floors it and speeds past then at the next red light i was right behind him he floors it from that light and at the next light i pull up RIGHT next to him i look over at him and shake my head and laugh and he gives me this look

and when the light turns green he slowly rools through the intersection so i gave him a and drove away

Maybe i converted another Ecomodder

I don't really hypermile, but I'm still a low-energy driver, and it does tickle me to see the leadfooted speed-freaks in situations like this... and in my head I'm hazarding rough guesses as to how expensive it must be, and how fruitless.

It is even better if you can time the lights and pass them as the light turns green. :-)

AP hypermiling article. I'm quoted in the article for letting the jackrabbits trip the lights for me.

Still a funny story. It happens a lot around me. Most of the folks don't get it either.
