I can't easily find the forum rules.

Do they appear anywhere else on the site except for when signing up?

I checked the Wiki and couldn't find them there either.

I was going to make a new thread in The Lounge and wondered if Political topics were off-topic enough to credit dismissal.

TYVM mods.

It happens. I'm not quite sure about the rules but, it generally doesn't go (or end) well.

If you are looking for information and are very open minded it might get some traction. Just don't try to prove your point (as politics has no solution). Look for other opinions that have value and acknowledge theirs.

Politics are verboten. It's in the user agreement, and in the description of the Lounge forum itself here: ecomodder.com/forum/

Thanks for checking though.

We make them up as we go along.
On Mondays we ban anyone with a 'Y' in their username, for example

Makes me think of my congestion combat plan.

The idea is old; ban a certain group of road users for a day.
In China (IIRC) in a certain city cars ending with an odd number on their license were banned on even days, and vice versa. People were swapping plates to circumvent that.

My take was to ban on a treat you cannot exchange easily; the make. On any weekday cars of a certain make would be banned. So if you own a car of that make you could not use it that day.

My scheme was:
On Monday all BMW's are banned.
On Tuesday all BMW's are banned.
Etc.

This was a youthful sin, don't take it serious I am so much wiser now... I hope
I like BMW's. I'd love to own an R type, GS, I3 or Isetta.

Thank God. I wish I'd been reminded about the "no politics" rule earlier. I'd have both stepped out of arguments and shouted the rule before threads became ropes, ropes stout enough to hang their owners.

Maybe I ought to find those rules and print them out. Maybe get a tattoo on the back of my hand...
