Darcane, Jay is a friend of mine. I've driven his car and have been pestering him a bunch about iMIEVs for a while.
I've been out to Puyallup a few times for the Mother Earth News Fair that was out there for a few years. (If you ever made it to one of those, I was the guy giving presentations on DIY electric cars and motorcycles.)
Daox, yes, it came with the remote. That was a major thing that I checked on first before even going to see the car. With it, you can pre-heat the car. Without it, there is no way that I know of to use that feature.
My car included the L1 charging cable, the remote, and one key which has the built in door lock/unlock/panic button.
I'll have to go to the hardware store and see if they can make me a plain "dumb" key from the one I have.
I also did put air in the tires. Max sidewall rating is 51. Actual pressure was 32 PSI. I pumped all four tires to 51. The ride did feel bouncier after that.

I inadvertently made it to a MEN Fair this year in Seven Springs PA. Wife and I planned a quiet weekend in the wilds, wound up shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of hippies and farmers!

I was at the Seven Springs one this year as well. I hope you made it over to the car show we put on! We had several Tesla Model S there as well as a bunch of other fun cars; iMIEV, C-Max Energy, Cadillac ELR, Elec-Trak, electric bikes and more!
We had our red Hymotion Prius parked there the one day too.
Those events are interesting. Hippies, Farmers, Off-Gridders, Ecomodders. Takes all types.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist creating a nerdy car meme.

That reminds me of this summer when I saw a Tesla parked at a gas station, right at the pump. I never did figure out why. It was nowhere near the air pump.

Lazy? Shade? To get strangers to talk? Dirty windows?
I fill up about every two weeks and I always clean my windows while the gas is pumping, but I think that I will purchase my own squeegee, so that I am not driving around with dirty windows.
I use my bike pump for my car, though.

A cut duplicate key may not work in your car. It needs a chip in the key and that has to be programmed to the car. Found that out with the wife's 99 Maxima when she bought it brand new in 99. Dealership lost one key, cut a dupe from the other. It would unlock the door and start the engine, but the instant you let the key back to the run position the engine quit. Made the dealership get me another of those $100 keys.
We used the non functional cut duplicate as a hidden key for when the wife locked her keys in the car. Magnetic container on the bumper reinforcement (steel).
If a thief found it they were still out of luck.
regards

It may or may not. The iMiEV is a really simple car, so I would be surprised if it has as fancy as a chip lock out. Even if it did, I would at a bare minimum want a spare copy to just get back in the car if I get locked out.
I'll get a plain copy made and then let you guys know.
Daox. Yes, you can be jealous. It would be a perfect car for you. I know of a really good deal on another for sale right now if you are interested.
