IH 300 Utility Electric Farm Tractor Conversion
Hi Folks!
I'm converting a farm tractor to electric.
I have no experience with tractors, so I'm making this all up as I go.
This conversion is actually for somebody else. A guy who owns a Tesla and recently purchased some rural property has asked me to convert this for him.
I'm mostly documenting it through YouTube.

I got a Nissan Leaf drivetrain from a junkyard.
I think it should be a good motor for the tractor project.
It's a 2013 model year, so it's the "Gen 2" version, using the EM57 motor.

I take apart the Nissan Leaf driveline.
Part of the reason for doing this would be to repackage it into the tractor.
It's also neat just to take apart and see how it all works!

I took apart the Leaf gearbox.
I might use the input shaft from it to mate with the motor as part of a coupler to the tractor.

The transmission in the tractor is different than that of a simply manual transmission car.
The biggest difference is that there are TWO SHAFTS!
The central shaft drives the transmission - same as usual.
But, a collar around that drives the Power Take Off (PTO)
Because of that, to maintain the independent PTO, I'll need the flywheel and clutch. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to pull away from a stop with the PTO already spinning.
