I'm sure electric and hybrid vehicles made by car manufacturers don't have that problem.

The friction brakes on my mother's 2008 Prius get grabby sometimes. The transition from regenerative to friction at low speed can be somewhat abrupt. They tend to rust from not getting used much. I clean them by braking hard in neutral.

I'm trying to see if my wife doesn't hate them.
I haven't looked at any measurements but she might try to say it's too small, is the first thing I can think of.

"Hate them", meaning the Prius Prime?
This Prius feels big to me, but it's all relative. Look what I drive on a regular basis. Don't forget it's a 4-seater, though. Probably a GVWR issue.
I got back into the Prius after driving ~400 km in the MPGiata this weekend, and man the Toyota's seats sure are comfy. Yeah, seat comfort is highly subjective, but another person who checked it out said the same thing.
I still hate the friction brakes. I demo'd the self-steering parallel parking to my sister in-law and she commented on how jerky they are trying to control the car at creeping speed.

My wife doesn't complain about the jerky leaf brakes as long as she is driving. So that's not a problem.
I always thought the newer Toyota seats were pretty nice.

I have been watching plug in hybrid Asia car resale prices in the United states. They are suffering pretty catastrophic depreciation.
I don't know how they are holding up in Europe.
Right now a 3 year old plug in prius is about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a tesla (in the United States).

They do depreciate, but not nearly as fast as in the US. They are thrifty after all, and gas is extremely expensive: about € 1.80 a liter at highway stations and 1.63 at the cheapest local unmanned stations. That would be about 8 dollar a gallon.
Electricity is taxed as well, but still is way cheaper per mile.
EV's are doing quite well, especially Tesla which outsells all other EV's combined with just the model S and X.

A 3-year-old plug-in Prius is the old PiP, not the Prime, which has been on the market less than 2 years....

For depreciation purposes I was looking at the old plug in and prime as the same. That's more on the other thread.
