Brian at Hasport Performance:
Not exactly an unusual car at first glance (just a G1 Insight with some aero work), but his has 550HP @ 10,500rpm. He's working on a 950HP version now, trying to set land speed records.

That new Aptera looks like it might have a lower drag when it was sailing on a crosswind. The wind tunnel data could be extra interesting if well analysed. The last time I crossed Kansas, I'd rather have had a landsailer. It would have done highway speed.

If everything that hangs out is streamlined with equal care, and there are not interference issues, the extra skin drag is the main penalty. More frontal area is often pretty cheap if you can use the volume.
