Thanks for the post. A few years back Dark Roasted Blend stopped updating their site, so I had not seen it since. Always a favorite, I'm glad they're back. Although they don't date the pages, maybe I just forgot a lot.

Looks like a new logo too - I love weird.

That link they provided offers no information on the mysterious inclusion ( far right), so I cropped it hoping someone can dig something up on it.

I noticed that one too. I need some free time to dig deeper into the site.

That last link above has some interesting accusations or explanation about the Boxfish.

A Real Drag
Mercedes-Benz modeled a car on the boxfish. Only it completely misunderstood the boxfish
https://slate.com/technology/2015/03...ly-solved.html
Quote:
However, Mercedes-Benz may have completely misunderstood the boxfish. According to a new paper in Journal of the Royal Society Interface, the company misinterpreted the fundamental hydrodynamic profile of this fish, and by logical extension, the Bionic concept car as well. The authors, researchers at the University of Antwerp in Belgium, the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and UCLA, contend that the boxfish body shape does not particularly excel at drag reduction.* Not only that, but it actually promotes instability while swimming, rather than minimizing it. This contradicts the entire premise behind Mercedes-Benz’s bionics-driven concept car.

I like it. Even the mural, though it's not normally my style.
The driver door could work, if it butterflies open.

I believe that it was the aerodynamic development for the 1958 Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix race car, which revealed the superior drag advantage of the all-enclosed body,in spite of the larger frontal area.
Also,Elliott G. Reid,at Stanford University,in 1935,proved the drag advantage of slab-sides,versus protruding wheels.The wheel bulges cost a 26% drag penalty,destroying an otherwise,beautifully-boat-tailed body.
