At least it's only flat on the bottom.

The cut worries me more. Spare on tomorrow and maybe a new pair of fronts.

Americans or Imperials? Anyway, for such a large car with an engine over 2-litre it sounds nice.

Imperials - official urban MPG is about 27.

EDIT - found that my "official" MPGs recorded were incorrect, fixed.

Another fillup (to use supermarket discount voucher) and a slight drop in MPG. I think this one might be due to my attempt to get the fuel level to the brim so I can do an accurate tank to tank. I gave up like I did last time but not until I had probably got an extra 3-4 litres into there compared to last time.

Unless I can do a ventectomy I'm going from first click to first click on the next and subsequent tanks.

I've never found anything wrong with first-click to first-click fill-ups ...

Bikers can't really appreciate diesel spills.

I wonder if click to click would vary, especially if I have to use a different pump or the temps are different.

I did the vent thing on Helga and never had a Diesel leak.

We'll see how it goes.

Did a longer trip today - managed 47.3 (on board display) and 49.6 (SG2) today on the way there and 47.1 (OBD) and 48.0 (SG2) on the way back. I wasn't rushing but also not holding back - 65 in the 70 zone and 50 in the 50 part of the A77.

The tank average (on board) is sitting at 41.1 so if that pans out this will be a good tank.

Of course from tomorrow Hermann is comuting again and will be struggling to beat 35.

Now that Hermann's mechanical state seems fine I have been looking into the remapping world - there are a few economy remaps available which may work, I need to work out the insurance and other implications first though and find out more. Some people post decent results but I'm not sure how many use their A6s in urban driving.

And I may have to check out cleaning the induction system as carbon build up may be an issue.

It must be hard anyway to drive slowly (by my hypermiling standards) with such a powerful and comfortable car. How long is the final gear ? How slowly can you drive in last gear ?

Hi Arra - I'm back too, I love the fact you gone for a big estate, glad you gone german too - couldn't find one in my price range so I went cheap and went french!

what mph/Krpm is your top cog? I must admit having a 'relatively' new comfy mile eater is sooo much better than our previous little cars (Helga/Chug) although I think mine is a little tooo cosseting as I've found a 'notch' where the car will sit on a lighter throttle @130kph than 110kph.... does yours?
