Herr Haldex doesn't need to strain himself, Herr Torque Consumer does all of that long before what remains is transmitted...

I reckon its a torque heretic

In other news- the lowest tank yet for the 320i

34.40mpg imp..

that said, much more traffic, and subsequent "catchup" than usual..

not to mention succumbing to the joy of the 6pot wail on the odd dry day.

However, a new full tank provides a chance for redemption.

possibly to be thwarted by a clutch pedal that feels like a dead fish- checked the reservoir, no fluid. so I topped it up- may attempt to bleed it later in the week

Another update- this time with pics

Did a Mod to the 320- fitted wing sealing strips to better seal the interface between Bonnet and the top of the inner wing

before

After

This should retain a bit more heat in the bay hopefully.

Also managed to get the Clutch bled through- seems much netter now, but I'll keep an eye on it

Filled up yesterday evening, got 395 miles for 53.89L giving

27.75 mpg (US)
33.34 mpg (Imp)

My lowest MPG tank since she went back on the road. A combination of High winds, rain and driving at upto 70mph probably caused the dropoff.

Although its only 2.5mpg off my best tank so far.

I drove to work like a saint today- 55mph FTW

so, another tank down,

396miles for 52.39l, and a "price war" over here meant paying £1.279/litre rather than 1.30-1.33

34.38mpg is not too bad

Also got some modding done today- retro fitted a front of engine cover to the underside- it fills the gap from the slam panel to the sump

Gap and area before fitting

The panel (it extends out to the wheel arches too)

Fitted

I then promptly drove home at 70mph to Get home for tea, so I reckon this tank is gonna be rubbish!

swings and roundabouts, eh?!

Nice mod. Passed a garage in London the other day in a taxi and the driver pointed at a garage (non-supermarket) at 125p for petrol and 128p for Diesel. Not surprisingly as this was in a "taxi rich" area they had run out of Diesel.

Other than attempting to pump up my tyres using one of those *** lighter tyre inflator things (why are they always so cr@p ?) I've done no mods - yet.
