Managed to find a spare front grill at the Unit,
So tomorrow I'll find a DIY store and get some pipe insulation tape and do a trial fit for he tape based grill block

Thanks! Luckily its an easy job to swap them out- I may upgrade it at the same time.


The octavia is amazing at my commute- I've used it before- the OBC says 80+mpg average for the 32 mile trip to work if you keep it below 60mph. I'm tempted!

However I'd need to keep the e30 for nice days as its so much more fun to drive than anything new- and you cant really complain at 35mpg (imp) from a 25yr old 6cylinder

highly unlikely, the 3.73 is feckin hard work to unsettle esp in the dry!

however, it also means top of 3rd is circa 80mph thats what costs the MPG

I decided against a 525D due to it being RWD - if anyone could stuff it into a wall in the wet or snow it would be me. When my MG was running we did manage a major "drift" coming off the A1 at Haddington - there is a slight crest there - in the wet. And that was with far under the original spec 85 BHP...

Ah see, all that matters is driving to conditions, that and low speed awesome looking doriftu.


Back on topic, I'll be fitting a replacement 2nd hand pump soon, then looking at fitting an uprated and more reliable one (esp as walbro high flow ones are cheaper than stock!)
