Oh, it's far from finished! This is going to be an on-going thing, as I have extra money and time to "fix" things.
(Qualifier - Nothing's actually broken... but that don't mean it don't need fixed.)

I have to get a new one before next season, I guess. Maybe I'll paint match it to the bike... LOL.
PS - Good luck finding factory match paint for your pre-1982 Honda bike... Honda didn't use discernible paint codes before that year. I may have to settle for non-OEM paint matched as close as a computer can get it, b/c there are dings and such on the bike that I may want to fix.
I can't find the TwinStar logos, either. I'll likely have them painted on, or just go without them, unfortunately.
As much as I want to keep this bike OEM as much as possible, I don't think it's going to happen very likely.. mufflers are the first thing, if I can get the old pair of Sportster mufflers that I gave to a friend who has never used them, I'll end up with them on the TwinStar, because I can't find OEM exact replacements, and I want to keep it quiet.

That's funny and please do wear a helmet my dude...
Its a safety measure by the way.

I guess I'm going to have to spend more time seriously looking at the engine. I've got a few other carbs I want to try on it, because it seems like I'm getting either way too much fuel, or not even close to enough.
It won't even start on aether, though, which doesn't make much sense, so I'm going to check the compression on the engine as well.
Hopefully I don't find anything that makes me want to throw a hammer.
I do always have the CB125S engine, though... 5 gears and 125cc single cylinder goodness... yum.

Um... I thought of something when looking at the stupid service manual that I didn't notice before... and I'm not sure how it happened.
When I took the carb apart to clean it, as I was cataloging and cleaning parts, I didn't pay too much attention, but I don't remember pulling out a needle jet.
The dilemma there is, that it shouldn't have run at all if that were the case.
So when I pulled it apart, I remember pulling out a main jet, and a needle jet holder, but no needle jet. I checked the jet size on the needle jet holder, which is .105, OE.
Anyone have any insight on this? I've got a few other carbs I'm going to bring over this weekend that I'll be able to take parts from, maybe I can find a few other jets that I can use in different sizes that will let me test the carb settings the way the exhaust is setup currently. It's getting close to time that I should be really jumping on working on this to have it ready by spring, and I've still got to finish the exhaust, recover the seat, and install the trunk/rear lights, then later on, I have to make the new front lights and headlight, but those aren't necessary to have it ride-ready by spring.

Ok, I ordered a new used carb from eBay to the tune of $20 for this thing. Should have it in next week some time. Turns out that none of the other carbs I have fit it, at all. Also, the CB125S' carb doesn't have the jet in it, nor does it have a bowl on it. It's pretty well beat, so I guess that engine gets put "on the shelf" as a "when necessary" engine.

You are not retrofitting fuel injection?
(I've swum around doing that to my 250 for a long time since the pump was the only consumption feedback, but looks like electric will be its next stop)

Gah! No way!!!
It's a gravity fed fueling system I'm more than happy with that part, the bowl fills completely in under 5 seconds (it's like 2oz or so) after opening the petcock.

I know that - I was just noting that mine is g-fed and I'm plenty happy with it. As far as feedback, wellllllllll that'll have to be considered speculative, I guess.
I mean, short of adding a flow meter, but finding one and implementing it that works on very low volumes and doesn't require electrical energy of some sort (is wholly mechanical) will definitely be more of an issue than a help.

Stalled
Obviously, this bike never made it out of the garage. It's questionable as to whether it will ever actually do anything, but in the mean time, I picked up another one to play with.
The Twinstar, if it ever runs, will be making power via a CB125S engine. I sold the CM185T engine awhile back for a spare engine for my Ninja 600, which I ended up not needing anything from. Go figure.
It's still sitting up there at my Father's place on it's side, the old Honda... Eventually, I'll get back to it.
