I wonder if they blast those glacial edges to make them fall like that when they photograph them , you know like Dan rather did with the Chevy trucks. If all the guys studying and teaching global warming stuff went out and planted trees, then we would have some progress. LOL. seriously we make almost nothing here now, china impacts the world much more than us enviromentally but we are addicted to their slave labor produced goods, so we shall suffer whatever conseqences happens because the money talks, personally I'm going all solar, Ebay lists some 100 watt panels now for 149$ delivered to my house!! how can you beat that, encourages my independence, energy and otherwise. and yes of course their made by 12 year old kids in taiwan

The land glaciers don't calve. Nobody is faking this.
Blaming the other guy doesn't solve anything.
We can try to plant the trees that live for 2,000+ years, and that might make a tiny dent, but we simply cannot burn more than 1/5th the remaining known reserves of all fossil fuels - if we want to stay close to a 2C rise in temperature.
At the current rate we are burning fossil fuels, that is about 12 or 13 years...

Yeah, but there's a limit to how many trees any one person can plant, especially since you pretty much have to own the land. I've got about half a dozen that'll go in this year.
And all the trees we plant won't even make a dent in land bulldozed for strip mines, malls, and parking lots.

Well, sure. It's just that I can't see how anything that would seriously help deal with AGW robs me of freedom. Now maybe some things rob YOU of the freedom to screw up my life & property without paying the cost, but that's a different matter. I don't accept any definition of "freedom" that allows you to dump your trash in my garden, yet doesn't allow me to fire a shotgun at you if I see you doing it.
