Even if he shortened the tail about a foot(cutting off of the front mounted section) he could preserve more of the "template" tapper. Keeping the same small footprint of the rear where the lights are mounted. While still not interferring with rear visability.

Screwing in Wooden Dowel Rods to the inside of the tail vertically, could help create a skelton inside not allowing the lengthy coroplast (sag), creating the steep angle just behind the window, as is.
