Congrats, Peakster!

Do you have a bike computer? I put one on my beater bike and find it's just like the ScanGauge in the car: it's motivating to watch the kms accumulate through the season - encourages me to hop on the bike rather than in the car if I'm waffling. (I'm up to 330 bike km for '08.)

Yeah I sure do (for both the bikes) . I wanted to keep track of my total distance from the get-go. And you're right, it sort of has the same effect as the ScanGauge.

I finally did it. I sold the Ford Tempo tonight after 4.5 months of deciding to live without a car (man, do I ever dislike selling things. It's actually really difficult! Everyone wants a *deal*).

So long $1.359/litre gas! Hello saving $750 every month!

Oh... and by the way moderators: '$200 Gloria' can now be removed from the garage (since I can't delete it myself).

Congrats, Peakster! Car-ectomy successful.

You can remove the vehicle in your garage now. There's a field called "status" under the nickname in the edit form. Set it to "retired".

!!! Go You !!!
Good Job, I admire and wish to emulate you.
Specially since I can't seem to get anything fixed.(lookit cars on left)
My concern would be the 15 mile ride home in the morning @ 2:00 am. I am not as young as I once was. (20 years ago I did that almost every day, I also got to know all the cops in my area on a first name basis, that whole white guy on a bike @ 2 in the morning thing)
Enough about me.
!!! Go You !!!

Morning and Evening Commute on my Bicycle:

Just a time-lapse video of commuting from suburbia to downtown and back on my bicycle. Each way is about 20-25 minutes (depending on winds of course). The evening commute is most fun because of all the cars I pass .

It's so sad when I hear my co-workers saying they spend $5 a day for *cheap* parking. Probably after the gas, insurance, wear and tear, etc. it would be like $10+ from their daily income consumed in just their transportation.

Cher!??

I can see how you'd like that afternoon ride. Quite a difference from what you were driving last summer.

For some reason I expected Landon to do more drafting. With all that cash is his pocket, he needs to conserve his energy.

YouTube (and I guess Canada as of recently) has weird copyright rules, so I try to use dance/techno/remixes more often to bypass YouTube's 'technology'.

I can't even express to you how much I'm saving since ditching the cars... Do you really want to know how much money in total I've spent this week? Try $24.04 on groceries and lunch at work . I tell you, it's addicitive!!!
