Yeah the old insights.. Everytime I see one my head turns. Also I have found myself looking at the back of every older Civic to see what kind it is. I had a 95 Civic LX (?) and it got me interested in this eco modding stuff. Too bad I dont have it anymore. 200,000 and no signs of stopping.

The gen 1 Insights certainly get my attention, partly because they're so rare (apparently less than 500 total were sold in Canada).

I've been this way for years with the original Insight; I saw a green one in my home town once (ironically, while riding my bike). I haven't seen it since. Sometime last fall, someone nearby was selling one for about $4000, but I couldn't afford it. And just a couple of days ago, I saw two on the highway within minutes of each other. It's the closest thing I have to a dream car. :O)

I saw a mint green Insight last year at my school's alumni day. Hope to see it again next year! Didn't check if it was a stick....

I also had a 'Ferrari phase', when I was 10-15 yo. In highschool I started understanding that fast isn't what I'm into, it's eco. At that time all of my friends were getting their licence, and riding their bikes less and less. Since I didn't get my licence as soon as I could, but preferred biking, I spent less and less free time with my classmates. They where salivating at BMWs, I was helping my Grandma choose a car with better FE.

Only recently, when I found EcoModder.com, did I get a new way of looking at cars. For every car I see on the road, in the parking lot, I see it with wheelskirts, grill blocks and kammbacks. I don't need medication yet, maybe I'll get over it. Or maybe not, hehehehe

I *finally* saw my first Insight II last Sunday, so I was happy with that.

If you watch the new Star Trek, there is an Aptera drive-by in the background. It's in the scene where Kirk and McCoy are on the stairs at the academy.

I saw a Prius-I pull up yesterday as I was meeting someone in a parking lot. 147,000 miles and no problems! I did let him know that the tires looked low on air (driver's front was BAD) and let him know that mileage would be even better if he pumped them all up to sidewall.

Here in Lakeland Florida hybrids are everywhere. Each way in my six mile commute I see at least two or three of the second generation Prius. There are a few Genation one Insights here too. Infact Lakeland Electric uses a lot of Gen2 Prius in there fleet. The school district has Escape and Malibu hybrids. So many of the new hybrids look so similar to the regular version its hard to tell if you cant see the badging or the wheels. I heard that GM was going to make the Malibu a full hybrid in stead of a light hybrid. I wonder how that will play out with their recent financial issues
