Tesla/Elon/BEV
I have a little moisture around my eyes (not crying though) that you are bailing on Toyota and going the BEV route. I am really a fan of both vehicles. Elon is a sharp dude however Tesla is going to have some headwinds and the SEC may hammer Elon. I enjoy the following youtube channels for their perspectives on the automotive knowledge and industry.....

Very nice Bob! Hope you're enjoying it.
Does that mean it was 1 day turnaround from ordering to accepting delivery?

Why the standard range?
I have a leaf and I can tell you battery power and range is everything.

If you charge at home the range will only matter if you plan on traveling over 240 miles on a day without stops at locations that do have charging?
In my case I could make do with 180 miles of range, and that's assuming I revert to driving faster than I do now (partly noise relevant, partly due to extreme gas prices over here).
I have not been in a situation where I would need more than that in the past 15 years.

Bob has guns and knows how to use 'em. Enter his property at your own peril. I'm always tempted to dox myself. Takes the threat of doxing right out.

The United states has vast distances between towns. For me the leaf can barely make it to the next town over and back during the winter with no heat running.
Then in winter when it's well below freezing 240 miles of range is probably more like 150 to 180.

Tuesday evening, I drove 13 hours, 538 mi, round trip to Tunica MS for $18 electricity. I visited SuperChargers three times, the Memphis one twice, and Tupelo MS. I was planning to rest in an RV park while taking a nap to reach Tupelo but the absence of a craps table at the nearest casino killed that plan.
The Tupelo to home leg showed evidence of running out of charge so I changed the route. I took a shorter route on county roads, 45 mph, to extend the range and arrive home with 15-17 miles remaining. The most valuable lesson was learning how the car let us track the distance and remaining charge.
