I love the sports car I have. My Datsun 280Z. A poor man's E-type, except it's reliable, my daily driver for 5 years.
It's fast, looks really cool, handles very well. Oh, did I mention it's fast? 12 second quarter mile, only it can turn.

Yep, had a 240Z, a 280Z, and a 280ZX Turbo at one time or another... great engines and great looking cars.

Strange then that most of what I'd consider true sports cars - Lotus, MG, Austin-Healey, etc - were designed & built in England. Last time I visited, I spent a month and it rained every single day.

I also adored the 240z when I was young. The doctor in my town use to zip around in one. Last year I went out and bought a 03 350z. Love it.

1972 Datsun 2000
Growing up, we had Datsuns after the first 1968 pickup.
I remember getting the competition catalog at the dealership, with all the race parts in it. There was a bolt on head kit with twin carbs for the 2000. A boy could dream............

There are some weird folk that live over there... How many top-down sports cars were driving in the rain? Wouldn't be surprised if you saw a few; the rain has addled their brains.

Nope, it's the midday sun that does that:
Quote:
Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
The Japanese don't care to, the Chinese wouldn't dare to,
Hindus and Argentines sleep firmly from twelve to one,
But Englishmen detest a siesta,
In the Philippines there are lovely screens,
to protect you from the glare,
In the Malay states there are hats like plates,
which the Britishers won't wear,
At twelve noon the natives swoon, and
no further work is done -
But Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
