I must say I'm a bit skeptical. Any fuel logs to back up that claim?

So in that case the reason it only gets 180-300mpg's is because he forgets to top off the tank?

It's because you start up on straight diesel while the vegoil is warming up to the proper viscosity. And also because you switch to straight diesel before shutting down to purge the lines from vegoil.

I edited the thread title to reflect reality (MPGe, MPG alone was misleading).

I see, that makes sense. Still seems extremely misleading considering you are still going through X number of gallons of flammable liquid.

I agree. If someone is running E85, I'd hope they aren't saying their actual 30 mpg is 200 mpg. Thats just ridiculous.

so really... "You Lie!" a gallon is a gallon, if you are burning fuel and put a gallon of fuel in and it burns that fuel then you figure out how many miles you went on that gallon, it doesn't matter what that fuel is, if you have to add it to the vehicle then it counts.

There was an F350 (?) Diesel that claimed some outrageous MPG as well - something 'probably impossible' in such a large, heavy, un-aerodynamic vehicle - 78 MPG or so. It has since disappeared from the garage, and most of the entries on the diesel page seem to be plausible. My guess was that the F350 was using some percentage of diesel (to start, or perhaps as a dino/veg mix) ans only reporting the dino burned in the MPG.

This is one of the reasons why I put the watt-hours per mile, and kilowatts used/miles driven on the refueling report - the MPGe of my Citicar is reasonably high, but the data supports the claim.
