I'll be getting into town around 3-4pm on Saturday...if anyone wants to get some dinner later that day I'll be around. I googled some places in the Fonda/Johnstown area and it looks like mostly pubs and small restaurants...which is perfectly fine for me. I'm sure the locals and hotel will have some good suggestions if we ask them. If you are planning to be in the area on Saturday let me know and we'll track down some good eats and ale.

If my car is fully ready and tested I'll take a ride out and join you guys. Sunday will be quite busy for me, so it will be a good opportunity to have some time to meet you guys, check out your cars, and exchange ideas/info.

Mike

I found what I would call a "frickin awesome" restaurant... unfortunately it's about 20 miles away in Schenectady (the birthplace of everyone's favorite company). May be too far to travel, but it's not even a gallon for most of us.

Here's the menu.

I love good food.

Matt - thanks for putting together that motel/hotel info.

Let's decide on a restaurant beforehand so we can post up and people can meet us, etc . I don't mind where as long as I can get something vegan

I'm up for wherever we decide for a restaurant. I googled the restaurants in the area and Wonderboy is right...nothing organic or vegan for 20-30 miles. I eat a little organic and have never had vegan but I'm sure it's better for me than some of the food I ingest on a daily basis so I'll leave it up to someone else to choose a place to eat.

Well I'm glad to hear you're off gallivanting around while we are hard at work ecomodding our cars. The Black Fly will be hard to beat!

My suggestion is to all meet and eat at the Holiday Inn Johnstown-Gloversville Hotel located 6.4 miles north of Fonda at 308 North Comrie Ave [Route 30A], Johnstown, NY 12095. It's big enough so that we don't have to worry about whether we'll be seated on a Saturday night, they've got a full menu, and the food's always been great there. I've used this location for two after-race banquets I've hosted in the past for our historic ice racers. If I come up with something better, I'll let you know, but that's the best suggestion I have. Otherwise, all I'm finding in the area are pizza places and burger joints.

Mike
