Yeah, if there's a secret, it's going slow. The closer I come to averaging 50 mph on the freeway, or 25 mph on a frontage road alongside the freeway, the better my mileage. My xB gets 32 mpg at 70 mph, and ~40 mpg at 55 mph. I've only had 4 tanks out of 40 where I've averaged under 40 mpg with it.

Kris,
No aero mods to the xB at all. I've got lower grill blocks installed, and tires are inflated to sidewall max. That's it. I've removed the spoiler on my SE-R, and it has a lower grill block.
Today's warmer weather allowed me 10 mpg better mileage driving the same route v. this time last week, in the SE-R.

It's fine with me, Vic. My xB seats four comfortably. I'll just have to allow for longer coasting distances with ~500 more pounds in the car. Are you driving your Jaguar to the meet?

I just went through that area two days ago on a 3600 km road trip and I was wondering if there were any ecomodders around.
Also just missed getting rear ended in the rain on the 505 in a lineup for road work at night. I heard the car skidding, hit the gas and pulled out of the way just in time.
Have fun. Wish I could join you.

One week to go, and I'm already nervous. I'll be awfully embarrassed if my mileage sucks during my demo. All we need is rain and cold weather, and I could easily fall below my xB's lifetime average mpg.

In order to make a meet or gathering on the internet successful, you need to simply post the date and location and host the event yourself. This is the only way to make it work. Posting a thread asking about it gets nowhere.
Trust me.
