I thishttp://jalopnik.com/5790167/meet-the-man-behind-chris-browns-p+51-lamborghini Jalopnik article on the making of that Lambos 'paint job. Turns out, it is a vinyl wrap done in Photoshop.
I'm painting a P-51 Mustang portrait for a guy that flew in WWII , and researching the plane came across this beauty :
I found the guys site that has the car. What an awesome looking machine !
http://www.cebudanderson.com/oldcrowcar.htm
The car is based on this plane :
EDIT : I never did get around to posting the finished painting.
Here it is in an imaginary squadron colors :

And here it is after I repainted it. My dentist has a dad that flew in the war and these were the colors of his personal plane ( it took a while for him to provide me with the photos of his personal plane, so I did that first version using a more colorful livery )

Interesting how they only have the black and white 'invasion stripes' on the bottom of the fuselage, but not on the top. The wings appear to have full coverage. Maybe AAA was more of a problem than friendly fire?

Invasion stripes were fairly quickly removed from the top of the wings and fuselage.
About a month after D-Day, they were ordered to be removed.
As more and more aircraft were being stationed in liberated France, with many of these used for ground attack duty, they were just too painfully visible from the air.

While trying to find a pic for another thread, I saw this one:
It's for Halo, but still cool looking in the military-themed department, none the less.

Nice, but it needs a German iron cross to be correct, and German text I guess. :
