The new cinquecentos are crap. If you've ever seen an old one you'd know why. BMW started out doing ok by the old Mini but the new ones might as well be SUV trucks. Fiat skipped all the in between stuff and went straight to "how DARE you call this a 500".

Eh, DeMuro...I've never cared for him, and not necessarily because I disagree with him. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. Although I did rather enjoy his CarMax Range Rover warrantee thing.
The thing is, I've vastly broadened my automotive horizons. I've found there's a lot to like even in unlikable cars; ask me why I ended up actually liking a similarly maligned cheapy, the Toyota Echo. The Mirage strikes me as a plucky, unpretentious little machine which makes no promises it won't keep. Its simple honesty is actually rather refreshing.

Isn't that what we do now? People love their SUVs so much, they're the benchmark!
Actually that's not as crazy as it sounds. Things like the Mazda CX3, Mercedes GLA, and Honda HRV are essentially lifted and butched-up hatchbacks more than they are actual SUVs, because hatchbacks won't sell if they're just hatchbacks.

^ This, SUV's used to actually be somewhat capable off road. LOL now they're just FWD pavement queens that like you said look like over sized hatch backs.
I honestly loath them, Cars, Trucks, Vans... that's all you need and they do their jobs best. SUV's in general suck. And the few outliers are things like Jeep wranglers and such, not soccer mom SUV's.

It depends.
My dad got a Jazz Hybrid (Honda Fit) mainly because it is easy to get in and out and easy to operate.
The cargo area is relatively high too, so he does not have to bend over that much when he uses it. for him the Jazz is much more practical than my Insight, which is based on the same frame.
My inlaws have a Suzuki Ignis, again for easy access.
My brother-in-law bought a Qashquai for much the same reasons; added to that, he drives a lot and the higher position means better visibility (active and passive).
All of them used to drive estate cars.
None have any off-road aspirations, real nor pretend.

Question, you still get them on the 14" wheels?
I don't have the numbers on me, but I do recall braking distance was better on the optional 15" wheels we have here equipped with the low profile Potenza RE010 tires versus the standard 14" wheels with "Eco" tires. And that was on the 2014/2015 model with the older (softer) suspension.

14" is standard. You get 15s on the top trim GT model.
