Yes the white Geo chopped E-car, that where I got the idea. I wonder how he did it.

I don't mean to derail, but what happened to it? Insight engines are known to run virtually maintenance free for longer than most anyone cares; I'm aware of a turbocharged one with over 450k miles and still has great compression.

I bought it for $450, which is a story in its self. I sold it after 2 years. Drive shaft broke, windshield broke, converter went bad, battery went bad. Bought wall charger for it. Hard to find parts. Broke down on my wife middle of nowhere, battery dead, had to reboot it, then fine. Amazing gas mileage, hardly room for groceries.

65+ Vehicle modifications for better fuel economy - EcoModder.com.
I cut the springs in this car, don’t forget to trim the bump stops. The Geo Metro spring seats do not need a square cut spring. I did add a hose clamp to keep the tail on the front spring in the correct place with the suspension unloaded. I cut exactly one turn and half the bump stop on the rear of my Saturn L200 a few weeks ago and the back came down about 1.5”. The gold car is stock, the silver car in my driver.

I was reading about the new 2018 Honda Accord engines. They have the exhaust manifold and turbocharger cast right into the head. 1500 cc DOHC, VVT and 192 hp, 192 ft-lbs, 10:1 compression and 20 psi boost direct injection. 87 octane. To power my metro, I would need only one 400cc cylinder.
I haven decided which car to sacrifice for the Metro, the beloved Saturn or the Geo Tracker. Saturn is getting old, timing is retarding at wot. low rpm even with premium gas.

Honda started casting the exhaust manifold into the head of all of their engines in... I think 2008? The G1 Insight pioneered this, their first car. No turbos of course but the turbo piping is super easy since it's already a single pipe. Integrated header is great for heat recovery, gets warm in winter in the first mile or two.

For improved fuel efficiency and responsiveness, the manifold has a "4-into-2" design; the engine's eight exhaust valves are grouped in two sets of four, each group with a separate exhaust manifold and exit port to the turbocharger cast into the cylinder head, which helps smooth exhaust flow to the turbocharger for more efficient operation and better low-rpm response.

Think that is one of Dave Cloud's conversions.
