Did you consider putting the buttons on the remaining blanking plate?

I actually didn't. BUT it wouldn't work very well anyway for a couple reasons.

- Only one side of that remaining plate is held in place. Pressing on buttons wouldn't hold up over time.
- The wires are connected to the gauge behind that plate. There's some needed room for that.

Otherwise, yes, that would have been a great spot! But I STILL would have had to mess up the vent/clock housing. The gauge does NOT fit without adding a couple mm of space. After taking that housing out all the time, it's been damaged from that too. Unfortunately! It's not an easy part to take out. lol Well, it is now.

(Not a CRX, An Aygo)

I get more top end out of it but the low end torque characteristic of hfs is gone. I am going back to a stock setup for ease of filter maintenance.

No,

I am not in the forseable future. Just going back to a stock-ish looking setup under the hood. Plus, it is easier to find filters for the stock breather box that the CAI. Everyone now used 3 inch filters instead of 2.5 inch.

That is nice work that you put into your guage. I was thinking the same thing a long time ago, but I could never figure out how to get the block off plate out. When I did the wireing for the new engine, I decided to take out the dash and then I figured it out, but I put a clock in instead.

Wow! Way to go Honda, and all the people who have maintained this one up to now.

My 1989 Accord died prematurely of rust by the time its odometer was close to yours.

If I keep my Firefly to that distance at my current annual rate ... I should be there in about ... 64 years! (I'll keep you posted.)
