Thanks, all! I'm excited too!

The turbo's going from freewheeling to max boost anytime the tach touches 2000 RPM pr above in the 1.4. It is liquid-cooled, so one might have to worry about coking of the vanes or bearings before shutoff. Mine will see a lot of on/off cycles thanks to using it for work. I'll see how it gets along in the first few thousand miles.

Oh, and when I get the car I'll start a new thread about it and the 1.4 turbo engine instead of further diluting your thread.

What LRR 17" tires are they mounting on the Eco ?

Back in 2009, the non-availability of 17" LRR tires was the main reason for going down to 16" .
Another reason was that 17" rubber was 50% more expensive than 16", and the options were rather limited for the 205 width I needed.

Goodyear Assurance FuelMax in 215/55-17. That size has really exploded over here, with many new vehicles coming out with tires in that size.

There's a small premium to pay for that size over the base 215/60-16 size, at least in the checking I've done so far.

...you'll be glad to know that the turbo cost is currently only $817.46, but, of course, that does not include installation!

They got rid of the instant display?
That sucks, they have one in the Cobalts.

Wonder if you could tune the car to run the 1.4 without the turbo or if that would be to little HP.

The Eco's I've driven all have the instant display. IIRC the rest of the 2011's don't get it. All trims get it in 2012, again IIRC. I'll poke around at the dealer today.

Just got my own 1.8L MT cruze. It's nice so far, this thing rides like a Cadillac. So quiet and solid. It's heavy, though... I really notice that on hills. I wish they would have dropped some of the crap on the base model, like the theft light and the 10 airbags. Who needs 10 airbags?

First mod I'm planning is lighter wheels. Those steel wheels must be heavy and they look like crap. That's a guaranteed mpg improvement for $400.

I'm averaging 28mpg so far in hilly city driving. Pretty good...

Losing to the EPA with a MT isn't considered "pretty good" here. That's not meant as an insult.
