I don't have a BD station around here... not one that's close enough to bother with, anyway.

Is there any way to stop the WVO from gelling even in colder temps?

cold starts are hard to judge

some people use block heaters to heat their engines

that leaves the fuel

fuel injector/fuel line heaters are ok

but probably the best/hardest method would be to heat your tank somehow
(i think someone used a heating element in their tank but that was an arduous process)

I was thinking more like a chemical or non-chemical additive that would take the freezing point closer to petro-diesel.

The car will probably be constantly parked in a garage that has geo-thermal pipes in the floor, so hopefully it will stay above 50* in the winter.

i thought of that too

you cant use additives with wvo

it will gel or clog your filter

closest thing some people use is acetone or spirits
(youll have to research that tho)

you guys are pretty damned helpful. are there websites or forums threads that discuss this stuff more concisley. I dont understandthe benefits and differences and I want to preserve the horses and ease of system maintenance. I mean system electronics and ecms all of that has tobee concidered. Im trying to transplant a strong enough diesel block into a gasoline car and not have to mess arount to much. this temperature thing is an issue as well i live in new york. but i really want a green machine so let me know please.

Well, I can't recommend that you use SVO or WVO, as neither is cleared for on-road use by the EPA.

Both contain glycerine, which doesn't burn cleanly much below 1000*F... it creates toxic gasses when it isn't completely burned.

The point of making bio-diesel from oil is to remove the glycerin from the oil and replace it with methanol, which lowers the viscosity of the fuel and makes it burn more like petro-diesel.

If you google "DIY BioDiesel" you'll find a load of sites devoted to it.

This is the site that I'm going with right now:
Make your own biodiesel: Journey to Forever

hey btw whats the statistical info on LPG conversion pollution reliability ect. whats the verdict ive read that biodeisel is mor nitrous toxic and u have to use lye and methanol to get it. i just dont want to fool myself i mean im already in the market for two catalytics

it's reliable, less pollutive, and just about as expensive as gas.
