In that regard, I agree. It's an interesting 4 seat design and reminds me of the banana car as well. I just think it's dis heartening to know this story has been done 1000 times already (up and coming start up is going to show the world how to do mpg!) and we already know the ending.

I heard the death knell when they hired some Detroit "expert" who's last job was a failed custom vehicle business. I would have thought that having Detroit on your resume when applying to Aptera would have been considered a slight handicap.

Please note this is a different design than the earlier one I posted.

I suppose that there could be a small chance of learning possible in a
discussion of whether, metaphorically speaking, Aptera is more like a soap
bubble or a water filled balloon.

Is it is near instant disappearance of the bubble (assets)...
or is it the mess left behind (investors) by the bursting balloon...
that would best describe the Aptera situation?

Hi,
They start production this month!
Sale to California residents only, for now, but all over the USA at some point fairly soon.
I guess this is what stands out in this thread.

To think I could be driving my Aptera using Esoter Supercapacitors in 2008 if I lived in California

Thanks for the reminder. They really did get close, but for whatever reason, the BOD brought in a CEO with "Detroit" experience.

Yes, that parallel has been noted. Both were among the very first uber-efficient cars.

I've sat in an Aptera, and I've seen one being driven many times at the X-Prize.
