Correction...It USED TO BE a mattress. Oh, and the wraps that you see are the connectors for the coils, easily mistaken for barbed wire .
Though it could easily be a sheep that was caught in barbed wire, then run over in the truck.

Hmm, so it's January 17th, and the Aptera still hasn't been "launched". They haven't announced the price, other than to say $25k-45k. I also haven't yet seen the kind of data I expect when buying a car: range, 0-60 times, braking distance, cornering g's without rolling over, live crash test results, etc. I guess we'll have to wait for the launch date, whenever that may be.

Thanks for the update. Methinks I see a CV boot in the picture. I hadn't noticed the detail of the larger door before.

Oooooo, I want one! IMO, looks as sexy and exotic as a Ferrari (but I would still want one of those, too )

Very pretty. No longer vaporware. I have never seen it with the wheel cover off. It looks so ... naked. So ... "normal".

Hi,
They now are aiming for October 2009 for production, which is a full year later than they had originally intended. It is a complex machine, and there are a lot of bits to nail down; like a battery supplier.
They have released a lot more details and specifics about the 2e, at the TED conference, where they are offering rides, as well.
