On my commute I do about the same amount of it, but I really need serious downhill to turn off the engine. I always suspected that the light weight and bad Cd of motorcycles makes them worse at it, and I'm thankful to redyaris for making some measurements:

Anyway, yesterday we rode in the hills of Bakony and I could do nice long EOCs (I usually don't turn off the engine until I predict the next coast to be at least 500-600m long, or I want to come to a stop - I don't want to drain the battery too much with the lights, electronics and the starter, it's only 12Ah which must charge slower and I it's
very hard to smoothly bumpstart Teresa).
