The headlights really will do you no good. I learned this from experience. If you want instant MPG increases, then go to 3Tech Performance and get you an economy cam and a 10 degree advanced gear. Best MPG Metro mod ever!

I'm working up the gumption to do that mod myself one day. But the irreversibleness of it makes me wary. I don't want my kidneys to be sore after a day of driving!
Do what I did, hit the scrapyard for another set of springs. Set your stockers aside and start cuttin'. If you have regrets after that you're only out your labor and the piddly amount you spent on those used springs.

I haven't put my stockers back on and probably never will.

Yup cut mine down and love the ride. I notice a bit during 65MPH big dips, But love the lowering, I think its well worth doing just for the cornering improvement. But exactly one ring of the coil was taken out so everything lines up in the same places IE the spring holding points.

Thanks for the advice on the Cam Mullet, So you did both the advance and the cam. Was considering one or the other but not both. Just in all my years with cams when you move stuff that much doesnt seam to work as well. Cause from my understanding the XFI has +6 in it already from factory then add the +10 gear and your +16 ahead of the crank. Just seams like alot to me.

Good idea, Frank. I'll likely do that. Eventually.

Hotrod: I believe the economy cam that Mike sells is a grind of a garden variety (non-Xfi) cam. So it doesn't already have the XFi +6 built in.

Johnny: how did you quantify "Best MPG Metro mod ever" ?
