New old guy with an '05 MINI Cooper S

Hi all,

Recently found this forum and have already learned a lot just lurking. The MINI has been my "mid-life crisis" car and I've been driving one since '04. This is my second and I have done a lot to it....Koni adjustables, lowered 2", 15% reduction on the S/C pulley, Mynes-tuned to just shy of 200 WHP, performance exhaust and CAI, and of course lots of cosmetic stuff. It came with the BMW aero kit and on-board computer and I have added a Defi gauge which currently gives good readouts of oil and water temps.

I am looking forward to learning more from you all on improving mileage, which is more about the nut behind the wheel on this car than anything else I think.

Cheers,

Don

mcrews,

I always keep my tires at 40+ and the MINI has a very functional onboard computer that gives immediate feedback on MPG. But thanks!

I've yet to ride in/drive the new Mini. There are a bunch of them scooting around my city (Brockville). A friend of mine even had the Cooper supercharged one, but I never bugged him for a ride (and he's since moved to North Bay).

Is the factory fuel economy gauge resettable on the fly?

What are your fuel economy goals?

Are you regularly tracking your fuel use?

Welcome to the forum!
