So wait, is it minivan size or wagon size?

Easier question:

Does it fit a 4x8 sheet in the back?

No.

Its basically a longer Prius. It isn't any wider. Drivetrain changes include lower gearing to make up for the increased weight. Otherwise its almost identical to the normal Prius.

It is a hybrid, not plugin hybrid. Range is ~1 mile or less in EV mode.

I'm with you; the only important question about anything bigger than a "compact" car is "...can a 4'x8' sheet of plywood fit inside..."

I know right? I've probably only got 5 years of life left in my daily driver, so I'd like to have an idea of what to get when it goes bad. I'm not opposed to a new car. But NOTHING new appeals to me/my needs.

It's reportedly 3cm (1.2") wider.

Increasing rpm all over the range, and the biggest contributor to its increased fuel use.
Why lower the end gearing instead of just 1,2 and maybe 3 ?
Sure it's the easier way, but on a hybrid there plenty of more complex things.

The Prius V is also taller than the standard Prius. I think it is about the size of the original Odyssey? The Sienna gets 18-22MPG, so the ~40MPG Prius V looks pretty good for a vehicle that is close in size.

This is being sold -- my local dealer has 'em. I have yet to see the iQ and the Prius C isn't due for a little while.

My car can take a 4x8 sheet inside, but you have to cut it into four strips length wise first.

Question: What do Americans do with all the 4x8 sheets they transport all the time?

Drywall
Paneling
Insulation
Plywood
Aluminum
Coroplast
Steel

Basically any type of construction, the raw materials come in 4x8 sheets. It's the standard for carrying for good reason, there isn't much you CAN'T carry if you can fit a 4x8 sheet in the back.
