Needs to be another foot longer with some third row seating to pull my wife away from wanting a suv or minivan. Showed her and she said it just looks like an oversized hatchback.

That's why Prius will break out from Toyota and become a new auto brand. It's very similar to Toyota giving birth to the Scion brand. The Scion's tC, xB, & xD are almost parallel models with Toyota's Yaris, Corolla & Matrix. Only the lifestyle marketing makes them distinctive from each other.
The new Prius (Piuses, Prii, Prium, etc?) models will have larger & smaller (maybe hybrid iQ) versions in conjunction with the mother-Toyota & brother-Scion.

botsapper -
Would that make the original Prius the "Prius A" (for being the first one) or "Prius S" (for sedan)?

Personally I hate alpha-numeric car names. (Kia might also go alphanumeric, like in their home market.) No soul or passion behind it.
TestaRossa instead of 250 TR, Viper instead of RT/10, Countach instead of
Project 112, and Mustang instead of T2!
(then again, there's the 911, 917, GT40, Z28, F150, 2CV, M3, etc)

I feel as though this is adequate based on my current knowledge. What's the eV range again?

Yeah, not enough room to justify a 20% FE hit.
Now putting a hybrid drivetrain in thr Sienna would sell like mad.
A Green minivan for all the soccer moms !

iīm a little confused yet. in the german forum a member is kinda pissed off, because the big prius isnīt for sale with only 5 seats.
aside from the fakt, it isnīt for sale at all for the moment, itīs always claimed to be a 7 seater in europe. i canīt belive, this will be that way (US=5s, EUR=7s), but nothing is impossible...
