No offense, but I don't think Pontiac competes with Lexus that much. The reason it exists is Lexus is trying to get younger buyers who want a green luxury vehicle, something nicer than a Prius. IMO the C200H is a pretty nice car. It still gets good mileage, looks great, and has all the gadgets you could ever want.

Oh yeah, without a doubt. Lexus is a luxury car company and Pontiac is (was)... Just another car brand. Nothing special, not many notable cars, and a rather lost brand.

I was getting ready to dislike it, but the picture makes it look good. Generally I don't like the "big wash" of metal I see when the rear wheel is covered, but that spoiler is fantastic.

You made me look it up. Fueleconomy.gov only has the 2010 MZ5 listed, and only in a 5-speed.
2010 Mazda5 5-spd MT = 22/28 mpg.
2011 Odyssey (fe version) = 19/28 mpg, while being MUCH bigger, but also pushing $40,000.
Advantage: Mazda for the stickshift. You could certainly work more mpg out of it than the Ody.
Of course, this Prius blows them both away, if 5 seats is sufficient.

Also, the MZ5 is $20k with a stick to the $40k Ody. 2 MZ5's is more space for the same price as 1 Ody?

The Prius V is about the same size of the Odyssey (except for the number of seats), but it has much better FE than either the Odyssey or the MZ5? It would seem that if they put 7 seats in the Prius V that it would eat the Sienna for lunch?

It doesn't do anything for me. Now, I've never liked the Prius much as I always thought it was ugly for the sake of making it's owners look green. This thing though uses too much gas and it seems too compromised towards being big to be a Prius.

The Prius looks the way it does, because it is one of the most efficient cars sold. Personally, I don't care very much about the looks of a car, unless it is efficient.

I suspect Toyota thought of this fact as well.
