I saw this a couple of days ago, not sure how it got here or even what it is, but it looks cool. It probably would not pull our travel trailer or get to the Ranch, no 4x4 I think, but interesting none the less.

That's a Pontiac G8, U.S.-spec equivalent to the Australian Holden Commodore, in its "ute" bodystyle. Looks cool, but I'd rather get a 4-pot S10 if I were looking for a truck...

There is one 1993 FI Daihatsu kei pickup truck in california that is fully street legal, 4wd dual range with a 4 speed transmission. (or maybe it was a 5sp)

The guy who bought it from the parks service uses it to pull an 18FT enclosed trailer

States where minis are legal

Cheers
Ryan

IIRC for that year they already had 5-speed transmissions. Anyway, it's really kinda pointless that these Jap mini trucks are not street-legal while folks are allowed to kill themselves in motorcycles.

They are street legal if a government agency owned them and used them for on road use (AKA you can title and plate them like any other car)

GM Announces Bi-Fuel CNG Versions of 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra HD - Truck Trend

Quote:
With the bulk of the chassis and platform on the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD trucks carrying over from the previous model, it was a given that the bi-fuel CNG configuration offered on the 2014 model would be offered in the new trucks as well. General Motors makes the announcement official with the reveal of the 2015 Silverado and Sierra bi-fuel CNG models. The bi-fuel option will be offered on all cab configurations of the models with both 2WD and 4WD. The combined natural gas/CNG range on the trucks is estimated at 650 miles.

In addition to the bi-fuel trucks, GM is offering dedicated CNG versions of the GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express cargo and passenger vans. The vans are available in three- or four-tank configurations, and have an all-CNG range of 200-300 miles, depending on tank configuration. The trucks and vans have a specially upfitted 6.0-liter Vortec V-8 engine designed for CNG.

Pricing for the CNG models has not been announced, but the bi-fuel package was a $11,000 option on the 2014 model. Ford QVM Venchurs Vehicle Systems recently announced a significant $2550 price cut on its CNG package for the Ford Super Duty, bringing the option cost to $8350. The price cut was enabled by a new composite tank design from 3M.

We have NG here, but Propane is a more common conversion, especially on a lot of ranch trucks. We ended up with a Flex-fuel Tundra, just because it was the truck we liked, not so much for the "Flex" part.

Propane is a little easier to find, but it's more expensive than CNG and you loose about 10% in Power and Economy

CNG is widely used in my country, and Propane is not allowed as an automotive fuel back here.
