The later Solectria Forces regularly trade hands for $8k-$12k in perfect working order.

Some $4k would also be needed for a battery management system, battery box heaters -- ~$2.5K of that to add not strictly necessary AC.

You don't really need a BMS. With lead, you just need a battery monitoring system, and they're commercially available for a couple hundred bucks.
Heaters & insulation are relatively simple, inexpensive add-on as well.
Again, if you were a tinkerer (to get it up and running) and this car would meet your needs, it would be a great EV to have.

Hi,
Okay, I am interested in this car, and I read the seller's answer to the question about the batteries needed: they are 12v 60Ah gel lead-acid deep-cycle, of a specific size (which he does not specify). Any guesstimates on the cost and a source for these? I'm wondering if Azure Dynamics can supply them?
I've asked whether this car is the 4-seat model (it seems to have a back seat), and if it is, it is rated as having a 60 mile range. I also asked if it uses an actual automatic transmission, and if so how many speeds is it. Or, is it a reduction gear, and does it have a reverse?
I'm hoping to hear back from the seller about going down and seeing the car first hand, and meeting him in person.

Hi,
I have decided against buying this car; for several reasons. I am concerned about safety, and the fact that I am not currently employed, being the two main ones.

I love the faded paint revealing where the letters "SECURITY" used to be stuck on the front fenders and trunk!
