"Like driving a skateboard" is about right. And the engine revs freely to 9500 rpms.
However, the gearing is terrifyingly low for anything over 60 mph. At 60 mph it's turning about 5,800.

Anyone want to rent a cargo ship and do an Ecomodder group buy of Kei cars? I would love a Honda Beat or Autozam.

I just went by a local dealer who had a few sitting on their lot. Apparently they imported them, but found that they can't actually register them in Vermont, because they don't meet all US standards. What a shame.
