With the new extensions, you now have a Kamm-back-with-box-cavity.

The red stripes are a nice touch. Maybe you can use the graphic treatment to tie the black and aluminum together.

But, I sometimes have to drive a van for work. And those vans also don't have a rear window. So I am a bit used to not using the rear view mirror.

@ Renault_Megane_DCI

That would be great!

Do you know if driving in France with something like this on my car will get me pulled over? Are you allowed to have shiny aluminium sheets on your car there?
You might be able to just insert a square section of the acrylic so you can see some of the field of view. Or you might insert two pieces side by side, separated by a seam of aluminum sheet in the very middle? Although, LEXAN is better to work with I think...

You know, it is not very often that we see this type of quality work here on ecomodder. It happens, but most of the time its cardboard and duct tape lol (myself included). Congratulations! This thing is phenomenal!

The look would be even cleaner, helping with "scrutiny" (a word that never sounds good when raised in the context of law enforcement).

Really nice skills you display here. I'm impressed.

So happy to see my project cited! (#18)

By the way, our sedan-to-Kammback-converters need to be able to resist several dozen pounds of lateral force from side-winds. I'm adding some lateral webbing to back of the trunk for this purpose in the near future. Heavy magnets with rubber boots located at the back of the trunk are also worth considering for this purpose, but that may not be optimal, considering the amount of force it will take to break the magnets for cargo access. If the structure can't resist the lateral force, it will tear off, probably in motion, which is potentially very hazardous. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post421286 I drove thousands of miles under a variety of conditions before encountering the gale-force side-winds that it took to cause destruction.

(Also, I now know that the Nd magnet attachment doesn't pass UT state inspection. I'm either heading for special permission, or else moving on to what the inspection manual calls "permanent attachment" (translation: screws).)

Right, I'm back after a 2548 mile trip. Going to bed now, tomorrow I will post some pictures and do some maths of the fuel used.

Kammback is still on though, even after a 125 MPH sprint, strong side winds and heavy storm. Lost one of the tire deflectors when I hit something on the highway after 600 miles in the trip.
