47.1 mpg with the Cobalt, can still do better, some 60 mph but also did some 50 to try to make up for it.

I was so close to buying a cruze eco about 1.5 years ago, got the Optima instead for a bigger back seat since we were expecting a baby. If I had known it could have done that I would have bought one, and would probably still have it. I also quickly realized that I didn't need a back seat in my car because I never drove with the baby.

But I'm pretty happy with my new insight and 83.54mpg was the best tank or 3 so far.

62.56mpg with my Civic. Previous best was 59.37mpg last tank, then back to last September at 58.53. Reason? Maintenance! Replaced brake pads, discs, found a spring keeper missing from one of my rear brake shoes, and most noticeable difference came from replacing a drive shaft with a worn out CV joint. Now that I do my own wrenching I'm finding lots of mistakes and short cuts taken by the garage I used to take it to.

I just shattered my previous best tankfill(136mpg) on my streamlined Ninja 250 with a tank average of 146.6 mpg ( 106.7 miles/.728 gal) . It was done on a 100+ mile loop I use for testing. It's all 2 lane backroads and we are able to stay at 55-60 mph for most of the run.

2.9 kg/100km using Low energy gas.

That means I'm matching the NEDC value for the up! - which was measured using High energy gas, which has like 20% more energy in it.

60 MPG isn't normal for this car. I'm able to HM mile to about 50 MPG commuting on a regular basis, but that one tank was over the top and included some extra driving on an efficient part of my commute.

Having said that, I'm extremely pleased with this car! Optima is a nice looking sedan, but definitely bigger than you need for one. My Cruze has just me in it about 99% of the time.

My 2011 Fiesta powershift AT has a 90 day average of 49.1 MPG. It was built 11-10 and will be 3 years old this November. Just passed 20k miles on the odometer. I had a 52.85 MPG tank but the next one was 45 so I think it was a fill discrepancy. For a car that we use for almost all of our local hops (the wife and myself) the fuel mileage is exceptional.

In the last month I have been on a bike more than the truck and car combined, by a significant amount. At 62 MPG the bike is just plain fun to ride and still does good on FE.
A tank of gas in the truck should last me two months unless I find a good deal on a bike and need to drive there to pick it up, some distance away.

regards
Mech
